Detectability of Subsurface Defects in Polypropylene/Glass Fiber Composites Using Multiple Lock-In Frequency Modulated Algorithms

Recently, thermographic testing has been applied as a non-destructive evaluation technology for composite materials due to its remarkable advantages, such non-contact, non-destructive, and high-speed properties, it is harmless the human body easy use, well having both qualitative quantitative inspection performance. In this paper, multiple lock-in frequency modulated thermography investigate defects on subsurface of polypropylene/glass fiber composites, experimental investigations were conducted various defect conditions estimation. A thin rectangle-shaped PP-GF plate dimension 100 × 180 mm depth 3 with 24 was considered test sample. The sample stimulated at modulation frequencies, viz., 1 Hz, 0.2 0.1 0.05 0.03 0.01 Hz. For evaluation, two representatives, algorithms thermography, HA FFT, raw data. Moreover, their detectability performance compared in terms phase contrast signal-to-noise ratio.
